Police crackdown on school dance alcohol
Police intercepted buses taking sixth year pupils to an annual dance in Kelso and seized large quantities of alcohol. About 360 students from secondary schools in the Borders were bussed into Springwood Park in Kelso on Saturday. Buses from pick-up points in Hawick, Galashiels and Duns were stopped by Lothian and Borders Police officers. A force spokesman said they confiscated dozens of bottles and cans of beer, cider, wine, spirits, alcopops and mixed drinks in juice bottles. A high-visibility police presence was also maintained at the Springwood Park showground as pupils arrived. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_of_scotland/8591462.stm Nice one, copper. So much easier to bust 17 and 18 year olds who are in full time education than the chavs who infest the town centres. Shame you had to get out of your vans though.
